Sun Island was established in 1984, with 9 kindergartens and kindergarten-cum-child care centres across Hong Kong (Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, the New Territories and the Outlying Islands) providing quality pre-primary education for children from 2 to 6 years old.
Sun Island has 9 branches in Hong Kong, with different environments and facilities.
Located near the Kennedy Town MTR Station, we offer Chinese classes with Cantonese as the main medium of instruction, and bilingual classes taught by the native English teachers. Our mission is to stimulate students to love learning, paving the way for life-long learning.
We often take the students to visit places to enrich the learning experience and show them that they can learn anytime, anywhere. We hope that in this brand-new school campus, our students will learn and grow up happily in a loving and caring environment.
Our patient, caring teachers help our students adapt quickly to their new environment and develop their sense of security. We cater for student’s different needs and take good care of them at school. The children can explore, play and learn in a spacious environment.
We focus on developing the children’s self-care skills so that they can look after themselves. In addition to the class teachers, we have native English teachers and Mandarin teachers to help the students learn in a conducive language environment. We also collaborate with different organizations in the community to provide support for students with various learning needs.
Our professional staff teach our students with love and cater for their learning diversity and different needs. We have native English teachers to help students learn in a conducive language environment. We have a convenient location and outdoor playing areas, providing a happy and harmonious learning environment for our students.
We attach great importance to the parent-school relationship and communication, which is particularly important for our pre-nursery students aged 2 to 3. Our teachers keep in close contact with parents through different channels to let them know as much as possible about their children’s school life and learning progress. We have native English teachers to help our students learn in a conducive language environment. Our teachers are encouraged to pursue further studies and life-long learning to continuously enrich their professional knowledge.
We encourage our experienced teachers to always keep in mind their childhood heart when teaching and to use innovative methods. We often make use of the outdoor play area and spacious school campus to promote learning outside the classroom. We focus on moral education and politeness to help the children become polite, self-disciplined, and ready to give a helping hand to people in need.
Tung Chung has residents of many different nationalities, so our students have many chances to make friends with classmates from different cultural backgrounds. In addition to providing outdoor playing areas for physical activities and free play, we cultivate their interest in reading by providing a large number of Chinese and English books.
Our spacious campus provides plenty of space for various physical activities. It is located right next to Yuen Long Station which is convenient for students and parents. Believing that learning should not be confined to the classroom, we arrange many outside visits and activities for our students to learn more on a variety of topics.
